Enjoy world class angling and fly fishing for rainbow trout and kokanee at our BC Fishing Resort on Tatuk Lake and on the numerous lakes close by.

Located near Vanderhoof, BC, on the sunny north shore of Tatuk Lake, our wilderness resort is the only occupant on this spectacular lake within Finger Tatuk Provincial Park.

Our Wilderness Fishing Resort offers modern accommodations and amenities including fully equipped housekeeping cabins, lakeside campsites with firepits & wood, plus a wide variety of services - tackle, angling and hunting licenses, gas, oil, confectionery and a freezer to store your catch.

Unsurpassed angling for kokanee & rainbow trout to 5 lbs, on fly or spin gear for the fishing enthusiast.

Boat and motor rentals are available by the day or bring your own boat and take advantage of our private access and boat launch. To round out your angling experience, our region contains many other remote lakes within a day trip distance that are suitable for float tubing, canoes and belly boats.

Regulations permit a catch limit of 10 kokanee and 5 rainbow trout per day and a 2 day possession limit is allowed. Catch and release or limit out if you choose. This is the one activity the whole family can enjoy.

Rainbow Trout Identification:

The typical rainbow trout is heavily spotted when found in streams and much less so when found in lakes or reservoirs. Stream fish are generally more highly colored than lake fish featuring a pink to bright red lateral stripe, reddish gill covers, white tipped ventral and dorsal fins and a brownish to greenish or bluish back. Lake specimens are more silvery colored and usually lack the vivid red stripe except in spawners.

Kokanee Salmon Identification

Kokanee salmon belong to the same species as sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka), but when sockeye migrate to the ocean to grow to maturity, Kokanee remain in lakes. Sockeye are referred to as anadromous fish while Kokanee are landlocked. General coloring is silver on the sides with a bluish-black top and white on stomach. Color changes dramatically during spawing.

Testimontial: Tatuk Lake Wilderness Resort has always been a special place for us. We enjoy coming up several times a year. The fishing is great, the scenery is beautiful and they always make you feel welcome. The resort isn't too far from Prince George and the road is well maintained. If you are an avid fisherman or just need a place to sit back and relax, Tatuk Lake Wilderness Resort is the place to come. Earl and Faye Wilderman
